Tired of Summer - The Young and the Restless

Is there anyone else besides me that is tired of Summer? She’s too much like Phyllis, and I’m sick of the “I hate Claire” line. And am I the only one that has a problem with Summer calling Harrison her son? Like, Kyle should put her in her place and tell her she has no parental rights, is not the mother, they are not together, and stay out of it.

I’m sure they’re setting up a “SKyle” reunion, but I’m tired of the whole “Summer’s revenge” or whatever they’re doing storyline. Leave those stories for Phyllis.

I have never liked Summer, but I don’t care that she doesn’t like Claire and I don’t have any problem with her calling Harrison her son, anymore than I have a problem with Harrison calling her Mommy. Summer obviously does have parental rights and that’s why Kyle consults with her on Harrison’s care.

I love this version of Summer. I cannot see the previous version in this storyline, at least not in any believable way.

I really enjoyed Summer when HK was in the roll. I’m not very fond of the current version of Summer.

NO I’m not tired of her and, for all purposes that matter now, she is Harrisons mother. She is the only mother he has known for several years, and she does have legal rights as was made clear in discussions between her and Kyle when they were talking about custody. And Harrison calls her mommy.
I don’t want to see her back with Kyle but she does have a parental relationship with Harrison and I have no problem with her calling him her son.

Well said! Totally agree Summer has been the only mother he has known for 4 years. Tara was such a great mother that she wasn’t thinking about Harrison when she committed the crimes that sent her to prison. I hope she never sees him again.

I totally agree with you 100%! She is so annoying in the “blame Claire” crusade. Sometimes I want to scream at her to shut up already!

Welcome back. When Summer behaves like her mother I don’t like her. Without that impediment in her life I think the new version of Summer has potential. Mariah has always had a good overall assessment of Summer. Meanwhile I do like Claire so I hope she’s back soon.

I wanted to start a game, everytime she said “my son” I would take a shot but i would’ve gotten too drunk. She was too much, esp yelling at Kyle every time she saw him.

I really enjoyed Hunter King as well, but in my opinion Alison Lanier has made the role her own and has her own interpretation of the character of Summer. She’s been through a lot, particularly when she thought her mother was dead and then having Harrison abducted. She genuinely loves the child and as others have said, she has every right to think of Harrison as her son, as he is in all the ways that count.

She was ranting and raving just Like Summer when Harrison disappeared, but Summer doing it is a problem.

I don’t have a problem with summer or victoria in a panic over their missing children. I wanted summer to stop blaming kyle and focus on finding him. Both victoria and summer are justified in their fear. Harrison is home and now they need to find claire.

I agree - I’m sick to death of Summer’s “I hate Claire” bit - it’s over the top and without reasoning. Do think though she has been Harrison’s mom in every way that counts to him. If he is happy calling her mom, it’s fine with me

This Summer has never been right for the part. I find her acting contrived…no chemistry with anyone. It is so interesting how two actresses can make the character so different! Same with Billy and Phyllis…

No!!! Summer wouldn’t have wanted another “mother” firmly inserting herself in the middle of her relationship with Phyllis. So…Summer shouldn’t have been put between Harrison and his mother. If criminal Phyllis gets to roam the streets of GC, so should Harrison’s criminal mother.

Of course we don’t know what these writers may, at a future time, tell us happened in that wonderful place called “off screen” but as of now what we see is that Tara has been gone for years and doesn’t seem to have made any attempt to stay in touch with Harrison.
I have no problem with the woman who has been acting as his mom for probably as long as he can remember calling him “my son:”.
