Coroner identifies victim of fatal hit-and-run crash in Centre Co.

Centre County Deputy Coroner Judy Pleskonko has identified the victim of Friday night's fatal hit-and-run crash along Penns Valley Road (Route 45), according to a news release.

Pleskonko identified the victim as 23-year-old John David King of Penn Township, the release states.

Officials say King was operating a non-motorized scooter along the roadway when he was stuck by a vehicle.

Following an autopsy, Pleskonko says the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Police are still searching for the vehicle and ask anyone with information about the incident to contact Rockview state police at 814-355-7545.

State police in Rockview are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred Friday night in Centre County, according to a news release.

Troopers say the crash occurred around 9 p.m. Friday along Route 45 in Penn Township, in the area of Paradise Road.

Police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle described as a silver or white in color Honda Pilot.

Troopers add that the vehicle has damage to its right front passenger side and that it fled westbound on Route 45.
