St. Marys hosts public hearing on bringing mobile methadone clinic to the area

Residents in St. Marys showed up at city hall Wednesday evening for a public hearing where city officials discussed the "possibility" of a mobile methadone treatment facility operating in town.

This was a topic that had a lot of people showing up to show support, and opposition.

"You're going to bring people from Bradford, Sinnemahoning, Coudersport; those people are going to come here, okay? And it's going to bring the problems with them. I talked to friends of mine in Clearfield. They said in Clearfield, do not bring this thing here, because their crime rate and their problems with individuals in Clearfield have gone up."

"I go to the methadone clinic in Clearfield. My life has changed so much for the better. It doesn't matter if there's eighty seven percent from Saint Marys or some are from Cameron County, one death is too many."

City council did not vote to make a final decision on the clinic.

Officials say they have 45 days to do so, which they say will be done in a public setting.
