one man dead following vehicle accident in Perry County

Pennsylvania State Police have released details regarding a vehicle accident that killed a man in Miller Township, Perry County, earlier this month.

According to a press release, the incident occurred March 6 just before 7:30 p.m. on Newport Road.

State police said Roberto Lugo, 30, was traveling west when he lost control of his vehicle veering off the northern side of the roadway.

The press release states that Lugo then veered onto the southern side of the roadway and struck a guiderail before hitting an embankment.

According to state police, Lugo's vehicle then overturned before landing on the driver's side.

The press release states that Lugo was found partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police said Newport Road was closed for approximately 2.5 hours during the investigation.
