Steelers to release veteran CB Ahkello Witherspoon

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly informed veteran cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon that he will soon be released.

Witherspoon, who was traded to Pittsburgh prior to the 2021 season, has played in 13 total games in two seasons with the Steelers. He started seven of those games.

Witherspoon has 8 career interceptions, half of which came during his time with Pittsburgh.

He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2017.
