New Japanese Steakhouse opening in Richland
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — A new hibachi restaurant is coming to Cambria County.
The new restaurant will be located in the former Ponderosa building in Richland.
Kabuki Japanese Cuisine will feature 13 hibachi grills and a sushi bar.
Owner Tom Chen says they’ve spent the past year renovating the building.
“We are very excited with the way it turned out,” says Chen. “Great thought went into the design including a special smokeless underground exhaust system for customer comfort and safety.” This is Mr. Chen’s fourth Japanese Steakhouse operating in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Currently the business is only BYOB, but it's in the process of obtaining a liquor license.
The ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony are scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m.
“We love to see young entrepreneurs like Mr. Chen invest in our community,” says Amy Bradley, President and CEO of the Cambria Regional Chamber of Commerce. “The restaurant interior is very unique and beautiful, people will be impressed. We wish Mr. Chen and his staff great success.”
Chen says the restaurant will be open seven days a week with lunch and dinner options.
