Man Charged With Murder Years After Remains Of 16-Year-Old Found In Centereach

John Mann Jr. was arrested on Friday, June 10, and charged with second-degree murder in the death of 16-year-old Henry Hernandez, of Riverhead, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

SCPD said Hernandez's remains were found on March 15, 2020, in the area of Jay Road in Centereach after a 911 caller reported skeletal remains had been found behind a home.

Police previously reported that it was believed Henandez died about a year before his remains were found.

Mann is set to be arraigned on Monday, June 13, police said.
