Cho was born on December 19, 1970, in Concord, Massachusetts, where she was also raised. Her father, Sang In Cho, who died on March 13, 2009, was of Korean descent.

A renowned surgeon, he led the team that performed the first liver transplant in Boston. Raised in Korea, he had immigrated to the United States to practice medicine.

His Jewish American mother Donna Cho (née Weltman) is a nurse. Liz has a brother named Andrew. Despite both parents being involved in the medical field, Cho chose a different career path. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in journalism and history, she began her career as an editor at the New England Cable News in Newton, Massachusetts.

Cho then worked at the WPLG in Miami. She then moved to Chicago where she worked as a correspondent for ABC NewsOne. At ABC, Cho quickly rose through the ranks, anchoring World News Now and corresponding to Good Morning America. She joined WABC-TV in 2003 as an anchor for Eyewitness News.

Husband

Liz Cho has been married twice in her life. Her first marriage was in 2008 to Evan Gottlieb. About three years after their wedding, the couple bought a Westchester mansion, featuring nine bedrooms and four bathrooms, for $2.2 million. However, they never lived long, as things quickly deteriorated.

About a year after living in the mansion, the couple were sued by a certain Yonkers contractor, Cathal Maguire, who claimed to have charged them for $87,875 in renovations. However, the couple contradicted the contractor’s claim by saying he was charging them above $430,000 and providing substandard service.

Following the legal battle around the house, the couple separated in March 2012 and Cho moved out of their home. They all kept quiet about their split, sparking a lot of speculation, including infidelity that Cho was cheating with NBC Sports anchor Josh Elliot.

However, some sources have defended the presenter saying that her relationship with Elliot started after her split from Evan Gottlieb.

Prior to marrying Gottlieb, the couple welcomed a daughter, Louisa Simone Gottlieb, on May 17, 2007. She was the only outcome in their marriage.

A few years after her split from Evan, Cho was ready to try marriage a second time by saying yes to fellow reporter Josh Elliott.

They married on July 11, 2015 in an intimate garden wedding held at the private Villa Sevillano estate in Montecito, California. The ceremony was presided over by Weather Channel’s Sam Champion, who had worked with Elliot during his time on Good Morning America.

Elliot had lost his mother three weeks before the big day, but the couple managed to get over their grief and have a great time on the day itself.

Like Cho, this was Elliot’s second marriage. He was previously married to Priya Narang and they had a daughter named Sarina. The couple’s daughters from their respective first marriages both featured on their big day as bridesmaids, People reported.

Net worth, salary

While her salary may be nowhere near that of the likes of Kelly Ripa and Megyn Kelly, Cho is obviously paid well for what she does. Our sources estimate his net worth to be between $700,000 and $1 million.
