The Best Kafka DPS Build In Honkai: Star Rail
Before we start, it is vital that we point out that Kafka is a Main DPS whose main strength lies in her ability to deal massive Lighting and DoT damage while also triggering her teammate’s own DoT effects. Our Kafka build will be focused on increasing her overall damage while also increasing her speed to make sure she can use her Skill/Ultimate as often as possible.
With that said, you check out the best Light Cones, Relics, Planar Ornaments, and team compositions for Kafka below:
Table of Contents:
The Best Light Cones for Kafka
To start off, the best Light Cone for Kafka is her signature one, Patience Is All You Need, which increases Kafka’s overall damage by 24% while also increasing her speed by 4.8% for each attack performed for a maximum of 3 stacks.
The Light Cone will also allow Kafka to always apply the Erode status effect on targets not affected by it upon striking them. The enemies affected by Erode will then receive Lightning DoT equal to 60% of Kafka’s ATK at the beginning of each turn. It’s easy to see why this is such a powerful Light Cone for Kafka.
If her signature Light Cone is not an option for you, the best Light Cones for Kafka are either the 5-Star In the Name of the World or the 4-Star Fermata. In the Name of the World is Welt’s signature Light Cone, but it’s amazing to use with Kafka as well. It increases her damage dealt to debuffed enemies by 24% and increases her Skill’s Effect Hit Rate and ATK by 18% and 24% respectively.
Fermata is Kafka’s signature 4-star Light Cone, increasing her Break Effect and DoT damage by 16%. As a side note, if you pick Fermata, we advise you to get the Light Cone to at least level 3 as fast as possible to maximize its effects. You can purchase it from the Forgotten Hall Exchange for easy upgrades.
To recap, here are the best Light Cones for Kafka:
- Patience is All You Need (5-Star)
- In the Name of the World (5-Star)
- Fermata (4-Star)
The Best Relics and Planar Ornaments for Kafka
The best overall relic set for Kafka is the 4-piece Band of Sizzling Thunder set. It increases her Lighting damage by 10% and her ATK by 20% after she uses her Skill.
Planar-ornament-wise, Rutilant Arena is our main pick as the set will both increase her CRIT Rate by 8% as well as increase the overall damage of her Skill and Basic ATK by 20% if her overall CRIT Rate value exceeds 70%. If you don’t think you can reach a 70% CRIT Rate with Kafka, using the Inert Salsotto set for its 8% increase in CRIT Rate and an overall boost to Ultimate and Follow-Up damage can also work.
With that said, taking into account her reliance on her Ultimate in order to both deal massive damage and trigger DoT effects, we recommend that you make use of an Energy Regeneration Rate Link Rope among the already staple DPS main stats. We also recommend that you go with Speed instead of ATK while selecting your Feet piece in order to increase her number of turns per cycle.

Best Substats for DPS Kafka
Substat-wise, we recommend that you focus on CRIT Damage/Rate in order to reach the 60% CRIT Rate and 100%+ CRIT damage threshold. After CRIT, prioritize Speed and ATK.
How to Get the Band of Sizzling Thunder, Rutilant Arena, and Inert Salsotto Relics
You can farm the Band of Sizzling Thunder Relic set in Honkai: Star Rail by completing the Path of Holy Hymn Cavern of Corrosion, located in The Xianzhou Luofu’s Cloudford area.
Like all other Planar Ornament sets currently available in the game, you can get the Inert Salsatto Planar Ornament set by expending Trailblaze Power or Immersifiers during your Simulated Universe runs, specifically World 6.
The Best Team Compositions for DPS Kafka
Given her set and role, the best team composition for Kafka should feature a strong main support unit, with Silver Wolf being our main pick. Overall, Kafka and Silver Wolf are a match made in heaven, given the latter’s ability to constantly add debuffs to targets while also actively lowering defenses and applying elemental weaknesses.
If Silver Wolf is not an option for you, our top pick for the slot is Bronya, who is then followed by the game’s best Lightning buffer, Tingyun.
The best team composition for main DPS Kafka should also feature a Break support capable of applying constant DoT statuses, with Luka being our main pick. He’s a featured 4-Star on Kafka’s banner, so you probably already have him if you pulled for Kafka. The next best choices for this spot on the team are Serval and Asta.
For the last spot in the composition, we recommend the use of either a main healer like Natasha or Bailu or a top-tier debuffer like Pela (if you are not using Silver Wolf).
