With all the hype surrounding Netflix‘s much anticipated Full House reboot, Fuller House, we thought it was about time we took a closer look at the woman who will reprise her role as everyone’s favorite middle daughter, Stephanie Tanner. Here are eight things to know about Jodie Sweetin.

1. She is adopted

In her 2009 autobiography — appropriately titled unSweetined — Sweetin revealed she was adopted at 9 months old. She also revealed the dark information she eventually learned about her biological parents: Her mother struggled with drug abuse and addiction, and her father was killed in a prison riot.

2. She was whip-smart from a young age

In an interview with The Huffington Post back in 2012, Sweetin detailed what she remembered about the first Full House table read, “… I started reading when I was about three and a half. So I went to the table reading and I could read all my lines on my own and for a barely five year old, that was pretty rare.”

Between the reading and the working, what she was doing at 5 years old is just a tad more cerebral than what the rest of us were doing at 5 years old.

3. She is a mom to two adorable girls

Stephanie Tanner is one of three girls, and Sweetin’s own family is two-thirds of the way to replicating that scenario. Sweetin has daughters Zoie Laurelmae Herpin, 7, with her second ex-husband, Cody Herpin, and Beatrix Carlin Sweetin-Coyle, 5, with her third ex-husband, Morty Coyle.

4. She has been open about her struggles with drug addiction

In her autobiography, Sweetin revealed the depths of her addiction to hard drugs, including methamphetamine, ecstasy and cocaine. After initially getting clean, Sweetin began telling her story of recovery as a guest speaker at colleges. In the book, Sweetin talks about how after relapsing, she would continue taking the stage on the speaking circuit, despite being high.

“I put on my best TV smile,” she said, “… they didn’t think I was coming down from a two-day bender of coke, meth and ecstasy, and they didn’t think I was lying to them with every sentence that came out of my mouth,” Sweetin wrote.

Sweetin also revealed she was high at the premiere of the Olsen twins’ movie, New York Minute, in 2004.

“I was pulling off the deceit,” she wrote. “It was hard for people to believe I was doing that much [sic] drugs. I look at photos from that event, and I didn’t even look strung out!”

5. She is working in drug and alcohol treatment — which keeps her in close proximity to Uncle Jesse

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly earlier this year, Sweetin explained that she had been doing work in drug and alcohol treatment — and her office is next door to where John Stamos is shooting his new show, Grandfathered.

6. She has a Glee connection

Well, a Glee connection besides John Stamos. Back in 2010, Sweetin told Hollywood Life she wouldn’t mind doing a guest spot on Glee, particularly given her history with one of the show’s stars: She went to high school with Matthew Morrison, and they were even in a musical together. Maybe Morrison can make an appearance on Fuller House given Sweetin never got her Glee wish? Surely, there’s room for another Jesse and the Rippers bandmate.

7. Her baseball loyalty lies with the Dodgers

Stephanie Tanner was quite the pitcher back in the day, and it seems a love of the national pastime is something she and Sweetin share. Sorry, San Francisco — it’s the Dodgers who have Sweetin’s love and loyalty.

8. She is super close to her Full House castmates, but especially Dave Coulier

It’s well-documented that the Full House cast has stayed close throughout the years. “It’s just crazy how much these people have been an integral part of my life,” Sweetin told Entertainment Weekly. Sweetin noted that Coulier, who played Joey (who is not an uncle), often plays host to her and her family. “I’m really close with Dave Coulier and his wife Melissa. My family and I go over there for barbecues, for dinners, Super Bowl parties,” she said.
