Prosecutors say a Defiance man has been found guilty of aggravated assault for his role in a 2021 stabbing outside a Bedford County bar.

Brian Taylor was arrested in November of 2021 following an investigation into an altercation outside Rookeez Bar & Grille in Coaldale Borough.

Authorities say Taylor and the victim reportedly began arguing inside the establishment, before going outside, where Taylor allegedly brandished a knife and "slashed the victim's throat."

Officials say the victim was rushed to an area hospital and treated with staples and sutures, and has since recovered.

Investigators note that Taylor attempted to flee the scene of the stabbing but was reportedly stopped by bystanders.

“This was an extremely violent act by a defendant who, without a doubt, intended serious harm for the victim,” Attorney General Michelle Henry said. “I commend the jurors for carefully considering the evidence and reaching a just verdict that holds the defendant accountable for this disturbing act of violence.”

Taylor is scheduled to be sentenced on June 24th.
