DA asks probation be revoked for Centre County judge
BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) -- A former Centre County judge has found himself on the other side of the law, again.
Former President Judge Thomas Kistler was charged with DUI last fall and placed in a special probation program known as ARD. It's a program used for first-time offenders. But now, Kistler is accused of violating the terms of his probation by recently consuming alcohol.
According to court documents filed Tuesday, the Centre County district attorney's office is requesting that Kistler’s ARD probation be revoked. Documents say Kistler admitted to his probation officer that he had a beer while in a Pleasant Gap restaurant in September. A condition of his probation was that he not consume any alcohol.
