Berger Jumps To CAA From AMG
Alan Berger, who headed the television division of Michael Ovitz's Artist Management Group (AMG), has jumped ship and gone to Creative Artists Agency bringing Katie Couric along. Berger will head up CAA's new news and public affairs department and also work with writers, producers, directors and production companies. Other clients are expected to make the move including Maury Povich.
The move is another blow to Ovitz's empire, which fired 38 staffers a few months back.
Berger ran International Creative Management's television department for 13 years and was executive vice president before joining AMG. Before that, he worked at the William Morris Agency, where he began his entertainment industry career in 1979 as head of TV packaging.
