A new winter tradition at Seven Springs
CHAMPION – It’s looking merry and bright at Seven Springs Mountain Resort as it kicks off the second weekend of its new winter tradition, "Holidays in the Highlands."
"This is an event designed to bring the family together and create some special moments,” said Katie Buchan, Seven Springs communications manager. "It's really great entertainment for the whole family.”
The event features live music from local bands, seasonal homemade food from local vendors and Christmas carols. It’s a magical holiday atmosphere for the whole family.
"Holidays in the Highlands" has an extravagant light display that turns visitors' vehicles into a one horse open sleigh.
"We have one million lights around the resort for a nearly 4-mile drive through light display," said Buchan. “It’s amazing, definitely a site to see.”
Plus, there’s a 43 foot Santa Express Holiday Train, big enough for kids and adults.
The train ride starts at the Main Lodge and goes through the Holiday Village.
At the Springs Town Square, kids can get photos with Santa Claus, while grownups can check off their Christmas lists shopping at the different local vendors.
Admission is free for everyone.
"Holidays in the Highlands" opens at 5-9 p.m. on Fridays. It will open from 3-9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
The event will run each weekend up until Dec. 23.
